The US Soccer. The U.S. lost 2-0 to Japan and a friendly in Dusseldorf this morning and this was the second

to last game before the World Cup and I got to say it was kind of alarming.

Call the fire department.

Greg? It was a mess. It was a huge mess and there definitely were fires put out a lot

of a lot of the arsonists were wearing our uniform but yeah it was it was not great

12 dangerous giveaways in our half and some were worse than, but just a pandemic of profligacy in our defensive third.

I was, you know, I was doing my notes as well on my own little timeline it's

nothing as comprehensive as your chronology of course you know I'm like thinking

I'm obviously note picking up on something here and then when I scroll through the like

online narrative after the game no one this wasn't getting by anybody right every single thing was like

ESPAN was posting the number of giveaways we had in our third. I saw a great graphic that showed

that through World Cup qualifying we had only allowed like eight shots on on our

own high turnovers and in the first 45 minutes against Japan we allowed six.

So yeah this was I mean the theme of this game is pretty pretty obvious.

Yeah and I mean it does kind of bring to mind the 2019 loss to Mexico, 3 to 0, and a friendly, you know, seems like ages ago, but the, there was a, you know, sort of a big inquest after that one why are we why are we trying to play out of the back at all costs with this group of players

at this time against this opponent and you know giving up just getting shelled as a result of it.

It kind of came out over time that Berhalter said essentially we were just that was a

chance to work on our principles and we sort of need to be more a little

more savvy about when to play it long instead of trying to play out of the back.

But this felt like a lot like that.
