Every day you're on duty, you're pointing guns at bad people trying to stop them doing really bad stuff.

That spontaneous world.

For me, that's what I actually crave.

That ability just turn up and you do not know what you're going to face.

The radio comes to life and you hear that.

And you're trojan unit.

And that's you.

Those few minutes in the car you're planning. You turn up and it might be multiple stabbings, it might be shots fired at car. And you've got to be able to go, right, this is the plan, on me. And so that door goes in. If there's someone on the other side of that door, and sometimes there was, you're the first person they see. This team are behind you, and your one job is to protect them all. I love that responsibility. Have you ever been shot at? I've had guns pulled on me, yes. Were you around on the London Bridge? Yeah, yeah, is that London Bridge? You turn up at work and put the police uniform on. You've accepted that anything can come your way. That instant, half a second, whether you're going to pull that trigger or not,

what is that consequences for you if you do pull the trigger? Longcastle being sacked. What do you thoughts on that? Again, the public, you don't get it. They put in their neck on the line. People blame the police, but ultimately, the police are affected by governments. But, you know, government has done a great job in just breaking the police, haven't they? The only people who have guns are bad people and us.

And this is what people don't get.

And for me, it was the best career move I ever made. I said 18 years, I couldn't leave. I just absolutely loved getting up in the morning. And it is unique. There's no other job like it. You come to work, you put your uniform on, and then you load your guns. You load your Glock, your MP5 as it was in 2003. And you get on a car with two of your mates, and you drive around for eight hours, 10 hours, 12 hours, and you just laugh in all day. It's just three blokes in a car, all girls, you know, the department's involved, you used to just be mostly men, but there are a lot of girls and you just drive around london and all you're waiting for the the magic words of uh any trojan
