Summary

Today I talked with Sarah Hall who wrote the book 'Sown in the Stars'. This idea of planting by the moon signs is one I have had several questions about before but I have never been able to find anyone who could go in depth with how it worked. Today she does just that!

Organic REV
The first thing to understand about REV is that it is not an ordinary humic acid product that is chemically-extracted from leonardite, lignite, or other coals. Ā
Rather, it is a 100% naturally-occurring carbon, humic acid & fulvic acid source - along with exceptionally high levels of naturally-occurring microbial biomassĀ
that can increase nitrogen efficiency by up to 25%. Ā REV replaces depleted soil carbon & bacterial biomass - and absorbs nutrients to make them more readilyĀ
available to plants via their root systems.

Hey there and welcome back to the podcast. So glad that you're joining me today. Before I introduce you to

0:07.0

today's guest and even introduce this unique topic to you, I want to start out with a story to kind of give you a

0:14.0

background of why this subject has intrigued me so much. When I was a little girl, my mom had a very large vegetable garden in the house that

0:23.3

we lived in the first seven years of my life. I have pictures of it. I have a little bit of

0:28.1

recollection. But what I remember was that everyone in that neighborhood had a garden. It was just

0:34.8

the way of life back then, and I wish more of that would happen these days,

0:39.6

but that's a whole other topic. But one of our neighbors was a gentleman that I called Pop. I actually

0:46.1

don't even know what his name was, but he was an elderly gentleman when I was a young girl in the

0:51.8

early 1980s. And he had this amazing garden that was only separated

0:56.9

by a fence between his yard and ours. Of course, as a young girl, I don't remember much about the

1:02.8

garden, only that he had one. But when I became a gardener in my early 30s, my mom and I were

1:09.1

talking about those days, and she told me something that I found

1:12.4

really fascinating. She told me that Pop planted by the signs, that he went strategically and

1:20.1

religiously by the farmer's almanac. I'm not sure which almanac it was, but it was an almanac

1:25.9

that he went by. And she laughed because she tells

1:28.8

a story of how he would come over and watch her planting something. And he would be like,

1:33.6

it's not the right sign. You shouldn't be planting that right now. And she would roll her eyes because

1:38.2

she was a college educated woman and thought, of course, she knew how to garden. But she said,

1:45.9

every time he said that,

1:52.1

he was right on the money, he was absolutely right, and his gardens flourished. Just hearing that story and having fond memories of pop as a little girl, it's always intrigued me. The concept of

1:58.0

planting by the almanac, by the signs, by the moon.

2:02.0

What does this even mean?
