And this is the Squiggly Careers podcast where each week we share ideas for action and tools to try out that we hope will help you and always us navigate our squiggly careers with more confidence, clarity and control.

And this week we're going to be talking about how to bust the career myths that hold you back.

It's inspired by, well, Sarah and I, we're always thinking, like,

oh, what would be useful for people to talk about on the podcast?

Like, there's no giant plan of like 20 episodes, everybody.

It's generally the week before, and Sarah and me are like,

what's uping each other going, what is on people's minds right now? And we had this sort of

floating idea around career myths and assumptions that get in people's way. And I put a post

on LinkedIn just to sort of test whether this was something that was relevant. And I shared some

myths and then I asked other people to say, like, would this be a valuable thing for us to cover?

And what other myths do you think get in people's way?

And I had loads of comments. I was like, wow, this is something that people really have an

opinion on. So we've sort of validated that there are many myths that are holding us back.

And we are going to talk about how we can bust some of the most common ones. So I feel like

myth is not a word that we, you know, myths are funny word, don't you think?

I think it's like a story time with my kids type of words.

It must come from mythical, right?

Yeah.

I guess.

Is that right?

So yeah, it feels sort of fairy tale-like, doesn't it?
