I'm Kula Callahan here with David Novak to bring you another edition of three more questions.

0:11.0

David, today we're debriefing the conversation that you had with Steve Case,

0:14.5

who is the co-founder of none other than America Online.

0:18.9

And anytime I say that, all I think about is, you've got mail.

0:25.2

Well, that was a pretty good movie it led to. You've Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

0:31.3

And, you know, I love that movie. One of my favorite. And, you know, this guy brought the internet to

0:35.3

the mainstream and increased the usage of the

0:38.8

internet, got people using it. And here we are today. I mean, just think about this podcast we're

0:43.8

doing right now, Zoom and over the internet. Your interview with Steve is fascinating. Because,

0:59.6

a stat that said people were online for an hour a week, right when the internet became available

to people. And you think about it today, it's like you're on the internet for an hour right

1:09.3

when you wake up. I've been on the internet since I woke up.

1:12.2

Exactly. And that's kind of how it is with everybody these days. It's amazing. It's so interesting to hear about the history of his career at AOL and just bringing the internet to the masses in general. So if you haven't listened to this episode, I highly, highly recommend it. David today, though, I'm going to get your take on some of the

1:28.8

concepts that you and Steve talked about in the interviews. So today's episode of three more

1:33.1

questions get started right now. Question number one. Steve says that it took a decade for

1:43.0

AOL to become an overnight sensation.

1:45.8

And he talks a lot in the episode about how the business was really just a slog until one day it finally wasn't.

1:52.0

I think everyone in the country would say that they're glad that Steve didn't throw in the towel when it became really hard to keep growing this idea.

2:00.4

David, how does a leader know that their idea is good enough
