Welcome to How Leaders Lead. I'm Kula Callahan, and it is time for another edition of three more questions with David Novak.

0:10.3

In these episodes, we debrief David's conversation that he had with the previous week's guest.

0:15.1

And David, today, it's all about Chipotle.

0:18.0

You just interviewed Scott Boatwright, who's a CEO, and I loved this interview,

0:23.2

partly because I love Chipotle, and mainly because Scott is such a dynamite leader.

0:29.1

You can just tell that he's super operational, and he holds his team to the highest standards.

0:34.2

Yeah, this is a guy who's been a huge part of Chipotle's success. He worked for Brian

0:38.9

Nicol, who was obviously a fantastic CEO and just got promoted to go be the CEO at Starbucks.

0:45.0

And in fact, before he went to Chipotle was the CEO of Taco Bell and did a great job working

you know, setting the vision, you know, and he's doing a good job of it. And Chipotle doesn't seem

1:13.1

to be missing a beat. And he's very excited about the growth opportunities that they have,

1:17.6

which are very, very considerable. I feel like Chipotle was this big cultural thing, like 10, 15 years

1:23.1

ago. And it's still this big cultural thing. David, you mentioned to me before we got on this interview

1:29.1

that about the advertising campaign they're running right now where everybody talks about

1:34.1

their Chipotle order and how they think that their Chipotle order is the best Chipotle order.

1:39.7

So I got to ask you, David, what is your Chipotle order? I know you have one. Well, I love their bowls.

1:46.4

They're awesome. And I like the fact that you can, you know, tailor them to your satisfaction.

1:51.2

But I really like their homemade chips. Those chips are really good. And I like the salsa and the pico and

1:58.4

oh my gosh. And I love the guacamole. I mean, it's all good.
