Today we are going to talk about three keys for a successful diet.

And these are likely things that you are overlooking or have really not thought about.

So it's not your typical dieting tips.

Really three things that I think a lot of people totally skip over when they jump into a diet.

So the first one and this one is going to be by far the most important, in my opinion, is nutrition, periodization.

I know we've talked about that on the last couple of shows, but really it is hands down

the most important because this is where you are basically setting yourself up for success

in terms of can you be adherent during the time frame you're trying to diet.

So this is the part that will keep you from yo-yo dieting, falling off

track, jumping back on track, that kind of thing. So really when we talk about periodizing your

nutrition and your dieting phases, it's really looking out at the year, I would say, and determining

where you want to be in a calorie deficit,

so a diet. And then the other parts of the year, you should ideally be at maintenance.
