Summary

Can the Mountaineers break the streak?

That's the question of the week as WVU opens its 12th season in the Big 12 Saturday afternoon in Morgantown.

After beating Texas Tech five consecutive years, West Virginia has dropped its last four meetings with the visitors from Lubbock.

Last season's 48-10 loss was the low point of the season. Coach Neal Brown called his team's effort embarrassing.

WVU will try to snap the streak with a running attack designed to limit the Red Raiders high-tempo offense that's averaging just under 35 points per game.
