Summary

This week, my best friend Kylie and I are deep diving into a dreaded (but necessary) topic: body image. I wanted to open up to everyone about my  experiences with my body, how I cope with my lack of confidence, and how to stop the habit of critiquing ourselves and each other. Kylie also shares tips on feeling good in your clothes, focusing on your strengths, and the benefits of body neutrality.

I hope after listening you know that whatever you're struggling with, you are not alone.

1:03.6

I'm at a low with my body. I'm totally fine to say that. Probably the last like year or so for a lot of different reasons, medication reasons, stress reasons, life changes, a ton of different stuff.

1:15.0

But I have had a hard time with my own like confidence with my body. And so Kylie has been somebody that I've leaned on a lot.

1:20.7

And she's all she I think you have a lot of really sound advice. You have been somebody that I've come to. And so I want to share your advice and things I've learned from you.

1:30.5

And also things I've learned in other places and put it all in one podcast. And I know that this seems counterproductive or not counterproductive, but kind of counterintuitive to what I believe because I don't think.

1:42.9

And we're going to get into this a little bit more, but I don't think focusing on body image is the healthiest way to go. So it seems weird to dedicate a whole podcast to it.

1:51.9

But I just kind of want to get it out there and have it said. And so you guys all know what I believe and hopefully it can kind of help help you guys.

2:00.0

And we can do this in like a positive way. So I'm going to have Kylie start. And I want you to tell me just your experience with your body from like maybe junior high in high school.

2:11.9

And how your body image developed through through those years.

2:16.8

Yeah. Okay. My like journey, I guess with my the way I think about my body. All I can attribute how I feel about myself back to like my mom.

2:26.9

And her example to me about how she felt about herself and her body. And she is if you know my mom or have seen my mom, she is one of the healthiest,

2:35.9

tiniest, milf, milf in all the land. Yeah. And she just she has always like woken up really early to work out. She eats really healthy.

2:45.9

She looks amazing. But she never I never heard her talking about her body either in a positive or a negative way.

2:55.4

Really she just didn't talk about it. It just existed. And she would talk when she would compliment me and talk to me about.

3:02.8

She would never talk to me about my body. She would talk to me about the things she loved about me and my personality, who I was.

3:08.8
