Afternoon everyone this is Susan Cl Susan Coffin for Attitude magazine. This is our

fourth of a series of webinars that we are holding in supported ADHD Awareness Month.

We're very pleased to have Dr William Dodson with us today.

Dr. Dodson is a board certified psychiatrist

who for almost 25 years has been in practice in Colorado with a focus on

attention deficit disorder and he's graciously agreed to answer questions on the

subject of ADHD medications, which is a subject about which of course there's much interest.

topic of a detention deficit disorder but we urge you to see a medical practitioner for

And with that, I'd like to ask Dr. Dodson to give us maybe a preliminary overview on what

are ADHD medications, what is what kind of class medication is this, and's the general sort of how are they generally

considered before we go to the specifics.

The scientific world sees ADHD medications as the treatment of choice. Internationally there are D.

Internationally, there are eight different standards of care, two in the United States, one in Canada,

etc.

All of them agree, however, that the stimulant class medications are the treatment of choice,

period. Not much quibbling about that. But for parents and families it's the exact opposite. Usually
