It's hot out tonight.

There's a pleasant, cool breeze, though, which seems to ease the thick humidity somewhat.

Beads of sweat that feel biggest marbles are forming on my forehead, and my mouth is parched bone dry.

I need to find something to drink before I turn to dust.

The corn plants surround me rustle in the wind.

A gentle gust caresses my face, leaving the accurate heat, if only for a second.

Above me, stars, now long dead, twinkle brilliantly in a night sky free from light pollution.

The moon is full and bright and grants enough light to see my surroundings now that my eyes have adjusted to the gloom.

Suddenly dawns on me that I don't know why I'm near corn plants. I don't know where I am. I'm lost and I'm in a field in the middle of the night.

The fear begins to set in. I try to start with the basics to help orientate myself. My name is

Hokka. I don't know who I am. I try to scream out for someone to help me, but the words seem to

dribble out my mouth as though they were mud. M-hm!

All that seems to trickle out is a low-grown.

Try to move, but my limbs feel sluggish.

It's as though I'm treading through water, but I'm not.
