It's my pleasure to welcome you to the Clark Howard Show where it's all about you and normally

about your wallet, but now it's about more than that. We've got a lot going on right now

with coronavirus and concerns about it and I want to step back one step and give some

perspective here. A week ago was when I'd say Americans woke up to the dangers that coronavirus

was going to present. And if you think about in just seven short days, we went from being

other than people in Washington state that have been in the midst of coronavirus for a while and

have had a number of fatalities. Elsewhere in the United States, people have been kind of like,

yeah, that's somebody else's story. And then bam, it became our story in so many different ways.

And the health thing has really upset people and concerned them and interestingly enough, not

necessarily the ultimate consequence we could be people dying. It's been this moving target

of dislocation that is getting more and more direct and more and more specific. And I think when

the sports leagues started saying they weren't playing, the final four wasn't happening mid-last week.

The stock market began falling off a cliff day by day. Financial market seizing up.

Cruise lines parking their ships. Airlines now several around the world now having temporarily shut

down. And we may see the same thing here in the United States. It's one punch to the gut after another,
