We'd go to shops, we'd look at fins.

Every time we'd see someone in the lineup, we'd ask them to turn their board upside down

so we could look at the fins.

And we realized, wow, this is far behind what it should be.

And we can improve this.

aerodynamic and fluid dynamic principles to the fins.

Basically we refine the leading edge so that you don't have a massive kind of shoulder

off the leading edge that leads water to get kicked off in a way that leads to

turbulence you have a turbulence coming off of the leading edge of the fin and you get cavitation

which leads to negative pressure and kind of the shadow area and that causes drag right it slows you

down it's bad enough sometimes on Finzi.

You'll actually get like a humming.

Mm-hmm.

So we focused on reducing that leading its shoulder

and actually have it be more like the wing of like a highly aerodynamic airplane.
