So you grew up in Dallas.

My hometown, yes. And what was that like as a kid? Well, as a young man, it was an interesting

place. I have five brothers and I have six sisters. So we're from a very large family and it's an interesting

upbringing.

Cheaper by the dozen kind of thing there.

Yeah that's my dad said because the last of the two kids were twins.

And he goes, they start doubling up, I'm quitting.

So, yeah, it's a big family.

Dallas was just like it is today. It's a hot happening place. Unfortunately as a young man,

JFK was shot here and everywhere I've traveled ever since then.

Now it's more the TV series Dallas, but when I was younger it was always JFK.

What a horrible thing that was, but yeah.

So you grew up in the 60s in Dallas? Yes.

Your dad was in the restaurant business. He grew up. He was a a butcher in the

Merchant Marines after World War II.

He was, well, he's a purple heart, Guadal Canal.
