One of my absolute favorite book series is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series.

And I couldn't help but notice that he said this about emotions. He said,

Love is an emotional thing,

and whatever is emotional is opposed

which I place above all things. This really caught my eye because, you know, I work with

emotions for a living. And another person, famously smart, is Mr. Spock, first officer on the Starship Enterprise,

and he had similar feelings towards feelings as. Holmes. He said,

may I say that I have not thoroughly enjoyed serving with humans.

I find their illogic and foolish emotions a constant irritant.

Hmm. So Holmes and Spock declared emotions as foolish, frivolous things that cloud judgment and mess up the quest for truth.

On the other hand, real life genius Albert Einstein took a kinder view of emotions.
