I was set on being a Mounted Police Officer from a young age, but I knew it had to move

to make it happen, and for me, the Met presented endless opportunities.

From joining as a PC at age 23, I went into a variety of roles, from emergency response

to public order policing. As a sergeant in the Mounted Branch, my dream job became reality.

Melbourne resident Irene Langley was looking through the heraldson newspaper

when she came across a job ad for phone sex workers.

The customer would ring a 1900 number and he pre-recorded messages from various women.

When they heard one they liked, they dial a pin number that directed the call to that particular person.

Irene took on the job and had the calls come through to her home phone.

After a year in the role, only three calls left her feeling disturbed.

One customer told Irene that he'd become sexually aroused while watching his sister shower.

Another expressed a desire to have sex with his own daughter.

The third man wanted to speak to an older woman.

To appease him, Irene pretended she was 55 years old.

In a mean angry voice, the caller asked,
