So you were born in the Philippines? Yes, I was born and lived there for four and a half, five years and my mom is a nurse. She was recruited by a Dallas hospital called Baylor and she left me with my grandparents.

So I actually didn't really know her until she came and got me and she was recruited with

this group of nurses that you still

call aunts and uncles to this day.

And I've been in Texas since 1980, end of 84.

But what was the Philippines like when you're growing up? Oh, it was awesome. I mean, you know, I was the first grandchild of many grandchild to come. Our grandchildren, grandchilds. And it was great, you know, we lived in a poor suburb outside of Manila, but maybe I idealize it because it was so much fun and I have like these really amazing memories of my

birthday because my mom was out of the state she would send me these wonderful lavish gifts.

So I have these super colorful memories of really awesome like dolls and these

extravagant cakes and my birthday is on Independence Day in the Philippines so there's

these great parades and people getting drunk in the streets,

but it looked like they were just laughing all the time. So I have really fond memories.

That's a good birthday party. Very good birthday party, very intense intense I still like to do it hard like that yeah pretty much exactly

the same thing happens today there's parades in the streets for June yes yes yes so

you get to Dallas and what's Dallas like? Well I cried a lot because it was so, it was so big. I remember, I remember getting lost in a grocery store when I was five.

That's actually happened to me like yesterday.

Yeah, in Texas grocery store.
