Good morning folks. I will be traveling today and tomorrow as we head into our holiday weekend But even as I do I still want to bring you the latest of news regardless and that is why we will still be greeting each

other each and every morning even if the episodes are just a touch shorter not

to worry though they will still be packed with things that we need to know and

speaking of here are four top global events that are on my

radar this morning, all of which, as ever, are shaping America and the world. First, we start with news from Brazil.

Authorities there are battling a set of fires that were started on Brazilian farm ground over the weekend.

The suspects are members of a prison gang called the PCC. That is the country's most powerful

criminal syndicate working with Central South American Italian and Chinese

crime bosses to control the international drug trade, amongst other things.

The gang authorized the fires over the weekend to strike back at the government in Brasilia

for cracking down on their criminality.

They chose arson, aimed at the ag industry, because it is the dry time of the year

when Brazil's major crops are the most vulnerable to fire and it will likely cause

massive financial losses for the country's most important exports like sugar.

So here's why that is alarming to me folks, pivoting now to analysis and opinion.

First, Brazil's commodities are quite important to our economy as well, especially soy, sugar, and meat.

So if these arson attacks end up spiraling into other commodities or other industries, it will likely impact our pocketbooks eventually.
