We're about to enter the inner sanctum of the most esteemed New York Public Library,

specifically the 53rd Street branch in Manhattan.

Here we perform for you a redux of our strange and original tale, The Madam's Fancy.

Good evening, audio drama lovers and bibliophiles.

If you consider yourself someone who identifies with both camps,

well, you will feel very much at home here with us tonight. And where are we exactly? Well, we are coming to you live from the stupendously

gorgeous and fabulous 53rd Street brand to the New York Public Library in glorious Midtown,

Manhattan. We are so very excited to be here for this special presentation of our show.

Consider it a personal tour of some of our favorite pieces from previous performances,

original plays fashioned in the style and sensibility of old-time radio shows,

along with a few surprises.

Since its Women's History Month, we thought that this would be a perfect opportunity

to share a play of ours that honors an amazing and fascinating woman.

Madame Tussaud is a name well known to millions,

mainly because of the famous wax museums found around the globe, that bear her name, including one right here in Times Square.

But less famous is the story of her life and accomplishments as an artist and entrepreneur in her own right, which were enormous for a woman of her time.

It's a fascinating document penned by the Great Lady herself.

Published in 1838, it's a book that is surprisingly a bit hard to come by,

with recent paperback editions selling for $60 or more online.
