Spring. When the Earth... podcasts. The poet Alice Oswood's pragmatic description there of this busy time of year, also thanks to our changing climate that timetable is perhaps not so strict as it was.

A lot of nature though remains active over the winter months with hidden

schemes beneath the soil but above ground comes springtime things really

kick into action. Blossoms scatter the streets, the morning chorus filters

through our windows and the warming rain gives way to that particularly pleasant

smell of petricore as the scent of awakening life fills the air. So the cold hasn't

entirely shifted, the promise of long drowsy evenings in our gardens and green spaces is felt.
