One of the long-running themes of the show has been the idea that during a

Realignment of American politics, the Left and the Right respectively are going to

reimagine their economic programs to confront a different America and try to win

votes in the middle and working classes. So over the coming weeks, we're going to

focus on those Left and Right sides of these debates.

Today's episode is with journalist Michael Schumowski has a new book out.

It's called The Middle Out, The Rise of Progressive Economics, and it really looks at these

debates on the progressive Left and helps us give a bit of a coherent look.

Now, the Biden administration is approaching these issues as once again they are

debated within think tanks, organizing at a political level, and of course within

the Biden administration itself. In the coming weeks, we're going to do the same

exact topic from the right, would love some suggestions or who folks

think we should talk to, of course, of thinking of going back to the American

compass guys because they always have something valuable to add, would love
