Really great to speak with you. I really enjoyed the book. I can't recommend it enough to listeners slash viewers,

which is particularly apt given the conversation it is about YouTube.

But let's just start with something that I really appreciate from your description of the company.

You just talk about how truly revolutionary us just being able to record this over Zoom, upload it pretty quickly.

Honestly, I've got Google Fiber so it would be up within five minutes.

Just talk about the revolutionary nature of what YouTube at its core level is doing.

Yeah, that's a really good point. It's, I don't think we appreciate enough.

I certainly don't and didn't before researching the book.

How new this is so 2005 is when YouTube is formed around the same time as Facebook.

This was, there was file video sharing on the internet part of the catalyst for the company was that it was pretty clunky or expensive.

One of the Steve Chen is a founding co founder of YouTube and recalled having to spend so much time where he upload these four second clips and just try to make sure that his mouth was moving the same time as the note like seeking the audio and visual files was a big engineering lift.

And the fact that YouTube was savvy enough to make their video player in beddable elsewhere on the internet was a major reason why it took off and for success.

I think it's certainly people at the time didn't just took didn't know that free on demand video would be a thing.
