Hey guys and happy Friday. We are back talking about seeds today. I hope you enjoyed Tuesday's

0:06.2

episode on where I buy my seeds and maybe all those options were a little overwhelming and you're

0:13.0

wondering how are you going to be able to do this on a budget? Well today I'm going to be talking to you

0:17.5

about nine tips for budget friendly seed shopping. Quick note, if you are a

0:24.2

YouTube video watcher, make sure to check out my channel, The Beginners Garden, Journey with

0:29.6

Jill, because I actually have a video on these exact nine tips with some graphics, so

0:35.0

you can kind of see an idea what I'm talking about when it comes to some

0:38.6

of the strategies that we're talking about today. Regardless, if you're more of a visual learner

0:42.9

or you love podcasts as much as I do, we are all trying to do what we can to save money on our gardens

0:49.2

and be more budget-friendly, especially if you're like me and you're trying to grow your food to try to cut

0:55.2

your grocery bill, which that's always been a big goal of mine, then trying to be as budget-friendly

1:00.9

without, you know, cutting corners on our gardens in a negative way is what we all want to strive for,

1:07.2

right? So let's take a look at my nine tips for helping you mitigate some of the

1:13.6

expense that comes with buying seeds. Number one, make an inventory of the seeds you already have.

1:20.5

This is something that I mentioned in the first episode of 2023, but it bears repeating,

1:25.4

especially if maybe you haven't gotten to it yet, consider this your

1:29.3

reminder. Make an inventory of the seeds you already have because, and I've done this in the past,

1:35.1

so learn from my mistake, you want to know what you don't need to buy. Because if you already

1:40.4

have seeds for the varieties or the kinds that you know that you're going to grow and

1:45.5

you have plenty of them, then there's no reason to add that seed packet to your online shopping

1:51.8

card or buying it, you know, at the garden center where you're there just in case. Because that's

1:56.5

just wasteful. I know sometimes it's easy to say, well, that's just three bucks there and four bucks
