Welcome to the perfume room. My scent of the day today is Commodity Orris. The re-founder of

Commodity, Vic and Arslanian, personally sent me a bottle and I fucking lost my shit.

Also, I posted a video about the entire thing on TikTok, and one of the first comments I got was

cursing was unnecessary.

So if I've let you down, I am so fucking sorry.

Anyway, as you know, I love commodity.

And spoiler alert, Vickin is the first guest of the new year. But yeah, I love commodity. I love the rebrand. I love scent space. I am with

it. But I am also an orris junkie and commodity orris was simply best in class. I easily have

30 oris dominant fragrances in my

collection and their oris is top three for sure. If you're not familiar with the specific

perfume or with the oris note in general, I've tried to describe it to people. It's basically

like warm and waxy and chalky at the same time with just like a hint,

like a little peak of sweetness that you can't quite put your finger on. And it's somewhere in

between that waxy sweet smell of lipstick and that chalky, slight sweetness that you would get

in like a Pez candy or like a neko candy. And I don't know why the idea of

smelling waxy and chalky is so alluring to me, but it just is. I want to smell like a texture

and that is the texture. And at the end of the day, do we not all strive to smell like strawberry pez candy? Just sit with that for a second.

Also, fun fact, I have actually been to the Pez factory slash museum with my friend Courtney.

Courtney, if you're listening to this, shout out. We a few years ago had this whole trip plan and then our flight was just straight

up canceled with no rescheduling. So we're like, all right, let's just like have a staycation.
