Democrats who run in competitive districts, they're not going to run and

defend the police, they're not going to run in gender-affirming care, but the

party is the party.

In a way, I mean, you could argue the Democratic party is really sort of anti-working

class in a lot of ways these days.

Now, you know, they will always try to argue.

It's not crazy that, okay, well, at least we're doing stuff

that's in the economic interest in the working class.

But in a lot of ways, they really don't like working class people.

The Democratic Party is a certain image and that image is

antithetical to what a lot of working class people are comfortable with.

Brilliant. I'm delighted to have you on and there are so many things I want to ask you about I particularly want to dig down with you

into the kind of stuff that you write about so brilliantly which is not just what's happening

on the surface of American politics but also what's happening

underneath especially with all the realignments amongst the electorate themselves, the change in nature of the

class vote, the race vote, all that stuff I really want to get down into the nitty gritty of that rather than just looking at Trump versus Biden once again.
