0:00.0	A November 4th of 2021, a 16-year-old girl was trapped in her abductors' car while he
0:23.2	was traveling through Kentucky.
0:25.1	She began to make these strange hand gestures through the window at passing cars.
0:29.6	She held up four fingers with her thumb tucked into the palm, and she closed her fingers
0:34.4	around her thumb to make a fist.
0:36.5	Many passers-by thought she was waving, but one motorist recognized the hand signal
0:41.4	from TikTok and called the police.
0:43.9	Law enforcement was unfamiliar with the hand gesture, but they pulled the vehicle over
0:48.1	anyway.
0:49.3	They discovered that the girl inside had been reported missing by her parents days
0:53.7	ago from Asheville, North Carolina.
0:56.4	Her abductor was a man named James Herbert Brick, and they charged him with unlawful imprisonment.
1:02.6	He also had pornographic images of a child on his phone and has been charged with possession.
1:07.9	The girl and James Brick had been acquaintances, and Brick forced her to go on a trip with
1:12.3	them to visit family in Ohio.
1:14.5	Once Brick's family found out that the girl was a minor and that she was a missing person,
1:18.9	Brick took off toward Kentucky.
1:20.8	This girl used the hand signal for help, and it likely saved her life.
