Summary

Jim, Laura and Lisa breakdown Richard Scott Smith's behavior in the SHOWTIME® Documentary Series "Love Fraud" as we see him target a new victim, Karla. He persuades Karla to leave her partner of many years, Jim, and skip town. Laura and Jim analyze Smith's behavioral traits and whether he has changed his modus operandi by targeting a married woman and also discuss the incredible women who are determined to stop Smith in his tracks, including female bounty hunter Carla who takes the case on pro bono to ensure Smith is prevented from harming other women.

I mean, I've only ever come across one bounty hunter dog, the bounty hunter. So this isn't a territory I know too much about, but I would imagine you have to be pretty dogged and pretty hard, hard nailed and hard nose to be in this role. And I think she's all of these things. I mean, she's a real character.

And she certainly takes no nonsense at all. She's very plain speaking. I got to say when I'm introduced to this certain things, I don't understand what she says, but I felt that the episode should have been called some days chicken, some days feathers.

I mean, I had no idea what that means, but to me, it just stood out as, wow, what is going on here? What am I hearing? What is that?

I think what that means is some assuming that you want the chicken. Sometimes you only get their feathers and the chicken gets away.

Right. In other words, she is a bounty hunter. She's somebody who chases people who are fugitives. I think she's also a bail, bail bondsman.

She works for a bonding company. So I think she actually bonds people out. And then sometimes those people become fugitives because they don't show up for their court dates. And I think that's why she used that analogy. That was my interpretation of it.
