Summary

Today, I’m chatting with Gabrielle Korn, the youngest (and arguably, most progressive) Editor-in-Chief of Nylon Magazine. Gabrielle’s leadership was an integral part of taking Nylon from print to fully digital, and she has pushed racial and sexual diversity to be one of the core tenets of the magazine. In short, she’s a trailblazer.

Gabrielle and I talk about everything from breaking into the world of publishing and how to get noticed if you’re just starting out, to pushing diversity and a varied dialogue, to a day in the life of an EIC, to her skincare and wellness routines.

My conversation with Gabrielle was a breath of fresh air, and I wanted to share a quote from her, which is extremely powerful: “We’re strongly anti-racist, which is different from being inclusive because you talk about racism instead of just representing people”.

Whether you’re trying to break into publishing or are interested in diversity in publishing, this is an episode that should not be missed.
