Hi everybody, this is Joe Lample, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Show.

We have a diverse range of listeners to this podcast, including a lot of food growers

of all levels, flower growers, market farmers, horticulturists, and designers, etc.

But I think it's safe to say there is a growing trend to add more flowers to whatever

garden space we have.

And to be clear, we certainly don't need a good reason to start growing flowers if we're

not doing so already, or we might be wanting to add more flowers.

But feel kind of stuck in knowing what to grow, when, and where, and how to make it look

a little more intentional if that's your goal.

Now the reasons, as I mentioned, don't need to factor into why you should be growing

flowers, or more flowers.

But allow me to just state a few in case it helps nudge you into action.

First, the obvious.

It adds an exponential layer of beauty to your otherwise monochromatic garden space.

If you're just growing vegetables, I can attest to that, at least in my summer vegetable

garden, unlike my fall garden with foliage colors that are so diverse, it's as ornamental

as it is productive.
