Hi everybody, it's Joe Lampel, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Show.

So here we are now into June, kids are out of school, and summer's arrival usually

means two things, a thriving vegetable garden, at least for many of us, and vacations.

But the thought of leaving your garden for a week or even longer, just as it seems to

need you the most, can cause a lot of angst for many of us.

I know it has for me for years, but not so much anymore, I've figured out a few things,

and that's what I want to share with you today.

In fact, these days, my favorite thing to do when getting home from a trip is to go right

to my garden and check everything out, because I'm not fearful anymore of what's happened

while I've been gone, because of the proactive things I've done before I leave, but it's

quite exciting when you've gone away for an extended period, even a few days, in fact,

in the heat or the growing season, to see just how much has taken place in your absence,

assuming that you've done things to prepare ahead of time.

Similar with the right preparation, it'll be that way for you, too, and you can take that

time away for vacation to do what you go to do, and that is to relax and not worry about

what's taking place back home with your garden, and know that your garden will be just fine

without you for weeks at a time, potentially.
