Hey guys, welcome back to the podcast this week and the YouTube video that goes along with the podcast. I am so glad that you are here.

This week's conversation is with my friend Deanna McIntosh of diversifying retail. And it's actually a conversation that we had inside of the virtual retail summit just a couple of weeks ago. So you'll hear us reference the virtual summit.

Now, Deanna was great enough to have this conversation with me

0:21.4

out of pure love in her heart because I wanted to come and ask questions that I felt like I was

0:28.7

hearing from the community that they wanted to ask but just didn't quite know how to ask on the

0:34.5

topics around diversity and inclusion and the race conversation that's happening

0:39.6

in our country and in our world right now today. So today I wanted to ask just from a basis

1:26.6

And so our experiences,

1:28.3

our conversations, our levels of empathy, they're all going to be different. And my personal

1:32.7

feeling is the only way for our world to change or to shape is by us just having a hard conversation

1:40.2

or asking ourselves uncomfortable questions that we may not have ever asked before. So today I just

1:45.2

wanted to be that voice. For those of you that were messaging me saying, how do I approach this?

1:49.0

How does this impact me? I don't really know what to do. I just want to be that voice for you today.

1:54.4

Now, I don't want to upset anybody. I'm sure I probably asked a question wrong or said something wrong. I have no idea. I probably made
