Hi everybody, this is Joe Lample, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe

Gardner Show.

From many of you listening right now, you, like me, are experiencing record high temperatures

here in the state, at least if you're listening to this when we go live on June 23rd.

Yes it's summer, but I for one cannot even recall a time when it was this hot for this long,

this early in the season.

And to add to that, we're bone dry as well, no rain for weeks, and none in the forecast.

Suffice it to say, these conditions are not good for gardens or gardeners, really.

But if you're growing tomatoes, these extreme temperatures can really do a number on your

plants.

From drastically reducing fruit production to physiological changes to the plants, and

then drought, stress, and greater pest pressure, it's just a vicious cycle.

So to talk about how to care for your tomatoes during a heat wave, well, my good friend, Dr.

Craig Lehuier, tomato expert extraordinaire, is here to have that conversation.

Craig is a regular guest on the podcast, but it's been a long while since we caught up.
