Summary

In today's episode, Emily is asking, "how do you show up when things are less than ideal?" The true testament of strength is in the difficult moments of life. The moments when you want to give up. It's not when your routine is perfect and you're kicking ass. What do you do in moments of failure or when you miss the mark? How do you show up on your bad days? How do you respond to life throwing you a curve ball? If you're not showing up for yourself on the hard or bad days, you can't expect to reach the goals you have set for yourself. On those days, you still need to aim for excellence. Even just 1% better than yesterday is better than nothing. Look for the smallest way you can make your day just 1% better. One bad moment does not equal a bad day. It is your decision to allow it to become a bad day. Let that moment be temporary, process it and move on. That's today's message.

momentary failure? How do I handle when things are less than ideal? Do I stick to my program when I'm

0:35.3

outside of my normal comfort zone and my normal routine?

0:38.7

Or at the first drop of something interrupting my plans and my schedule, do I get off program?

0:45.0

A lot of people fail to have a proper self-assessment of themselves.

0:48.7

They really don't have a self-awareness that is brutally honest to themselves.

0:52.6

They kind of always give themselves this extra credit. They

0:55.7

think they're always doing better than they actually are. And then when they get to their goal

1:00.9

that they had for themselves or this date that they've been working so hard for, they get really

1:05.4

upset that they don't have this result, this end result, this end product, the progress that they were hoping to have.

1:13.5

Don't be upset by the progress that you don't have from the work that you didn't do.

1:18.0

You really have to ask yourself, did I fully put everything that I have into this?

1:22.7

Did I give it my absolute best?

1:24.9

And guess what?

1:25.6

Sometimes you're going to be able to answer that question and say,

1:28.2

without a shadow of a doubt, yes, I did. I did put everything that I had into that and I still

1:33.5

didn't get it. Now you have an opportunity. Are you going to be a spoiled little brat and expect

1:38.2

to get things on the first try every single time? And then just kind of kick rocks if you don't get it

1:43.4

and say that it's not meant for

1:45.2

you and not be able to take any sort of constructive criticism or feedback because the truth is
