Most of us have been there doing our best to make sure that our kids have the right environment to optimize their learning.

Every school has its own set of challenges for kids with ADHD and learning disabilities.

Is the curriculum accessible to your student? Is the school

cooperative when it comes to evaluating your child? How difficult is it to get an IEP or

504 plan? Are teachers willing to go the extra mile and adapting lesson

plans to your child's learning style? So many questions and so many different

answers. Education and legal expert Susan Yellen will address the challenges

your child faces in school. She'll give you strategies for deciding which actions to take to

improve the learning environment in your child's current school.

She'll also talk about things to consider if you've decided that a new school is the

best course of action. Susan is the Director of Advocacy and transition services at the Yellen Center for mind, brain, and education in New York.

Every day she helps parents find solutions to school challenges for their kids.

She is also the author of Life After High School, a guide for students with disabilities

and their families.
