Well, hello there, top teachers. We are your hosts, Michelle Emerson and Bridget Spackman, and we are here to make

So this is going to be an episode all about our top favorites of 2024. Yes, we're going to talk about

but we're also going to just talk about fun things we've been loving books, movies, TV shows,

drink, snacks, all of the fun things, at least in my opinion, those are all fun things.

But first, we're going to start with a personal time-sucking hurdle of mine. And I'm actually going to break this into two

categories because at the time Bridget and I are recording this, I am on the very last day of my fall break.

So I want to start with a time-sucking hurdle that I had leading into fall break. And then we'll talk

So leading into fall break, I would say my biggest TSA was just lesson planning.

And I'm trying to figure out, like I don't think it's a me problem.

It's not like I was procrastinating or getting distracted or any of those things.

It's more so just that it's time consuming.

And I've come to realize different teachers have different definitions of lesson planning because I know there are some teachers who are like, no, I can plan my whole week in 10 minutes.

And I'm like, well, I mean, I can plan quote unquote my week in 10 minutes

and like know my scope and sequence. But in order to actually be ready to teach, y'all know I got to

create my slides. And because this is a brand new curriculum, not only for me, but for our entire

district, there's a lot of kind of behind the

scenes legwork that we are doing in order to make it teachable because the way that it's written,

it's just, I don't know anyone who could pick that up and just immediately start teaching
