Summary

This week, Jason is joined by content creator couple who turned into social media stars, Chicklet and Maleni!
After meeting at a friend’s party over ten years ago, Chicklet and Maleni had instant chemistry and it was their sense of humor that eventually brought them together, not only as a couple, but an internet comedy duo. Achieving a level of fame and recognition was not necessarily an objective for the budding comedians who stood out with their short videos, however, with over 7 million combined followers across their social media accounts, their love for each other and comedy turned into a story that people wanted to follow.
Maleni and Chicklet open up about the professional paths they once imagined for themselves and how those plans shifted as content creation took center stage. Chicklet shares how he got his start while working at Parks and Rec before taking the leap into full-time content, while Maleni reflects on her early career with a dance company. They break down the moment they realized real money could be made on social media, which videos first went viral, and their experience with Streaming University. The two also dive into the biggest challenges of working together, their journey with sobriety, and how they’ve built security in their relationship, their finances, and their mutual support system.
Chicklet and Maleni reveal all this and so much more in another episode you can’t afford to miss!

Chach G. T for writing that. Chad G. It was beautiful. It crushed it for me. Chat Gip T with a mix of my man, Stephen. I thought she was about to make us box the way like, let's get ready to rumble. Let's get ready to rumble. You did that beautifully. You got to break the energy, you know what I mean? I appreciate the intro. That was good. You guys bring the energy. 1:59.5

So basically, a group of friends around me where they had a rap group. Okay. And it was called HBK and I was just the guy. He was just the cheerleader? Yeah. Okay. Just their boy, right? You're like the promo guy? The number one. Not even. I was just there. I was just the guy that didn't rap, you know? Everybody else did. You were the fan boy. Yeah. So, and it's crazy the other day I was thinking to Millennia, I'm like, yo, there's one of my boys that always told me I should do videos. And I never give him credit for that., I don't think I've ever mentioned. I was just thinking about it.

2:34.7

I'm like, yeah, he always said, yo, do videos, do videos. But it wasn't until I was like, I'm going to do videos to help promote their music. So I even wrote like, I'm going to get a lot of followers to help promote their music. What year was that? 2012 when I wrote that. Okay, so when you wrote that, was that your job helping them with videos?

2:54.0

No, it was nothing. It was just, I wanted to put my own content out but gain a following with my own content and then pushed to help pushing up. Got it. That was the idea. He wanted't be a part of the team. Gotcha. Okay.

3:08.3

So that was kind of the vision.
