It's been quite a couple of weeks just before I taped this part of my podcast last week.

We learned the stuff about Trump calling the men and women in the military,

And of course, this was no big surprise to most of us,

because in 2015, Trump famously called John McCain a loser

and said he was only a war hero because he got captured. I guess what Trump

didn't understand is that less than a year into his five and a half years in captivity at the

Hanoy Hilton, he was offered early release by the North Vietnamese so they could get a propaganda victory. You see,

McCain's father was an admiral and had command of Pacific forces. So if McCain, who was being

tortured and starved, had taken early release before other prisoners who had been there longer,

well, then it would have been a big propaganda victory for the North Vietnamese,

and McCain knew that. He chose to stay, and he was there for another four and a half years.
