So, my friends, I think it's fair to say that 2025 was a very strange year when it did come to professional wrestling, because especially around WrestleMania 41, a lot of people were losing their damn minds for obvious reasons. I mean, some individual will still tell me that Travis Scott is making his way to the ring. That's not what I, Simon Miller the Ball, they whole talk about though, and given that we have got to the end of another 12-month period in 2006 is looking at us which is terrifying i thought we should go through the 25 best wrestling

moments when we can go to sleep wake up and go oh my gosh i can't believe i forgot that but that's why

have their own favorites but now let's sit down.

Let's put on a cup of cocoa, and yeah, let's talk about a bunch of things in sports entertainment

that made us go all right.

Number 25, Harley Cameron gets serious.

So there is somebody that absolutely kicked as basically for the entirety of 2025.

It has to be Harley Cameron.

I mean, go back to December 2024 and compare her then to how she is now.

This is proper Pokemon wrestling. She's evolving. To use a stupid turn that has done the rounds,

she has definitely shown a lot of live show charisma, but really is her unhinged commitment to the bit.

She can be weird, she can be off-kilter, sometimes she has a puppet, sometimes she's doing raps.

But because she does buy 100%, it never feels awkward, and actually nine times out of 10, she just makes you laugh. If I was going to use a word that would make you roll your eyes, I would call Harley Cameron a delight. That also makes it sound like I'm her granddad, so let's move on to something else. Given the Grand Slam this year for all league wrestling was Australia, though, Tony Carr made the very smart decision to take Mercedes-Bennet, who was the TBS champion, and give her the opponent of Harley Cameron, who shot horror is from Australia. I mean, wrestling doesn't need to be hard. This got so much hype in the build-up and Harley was so over. A lot of people, this idiot included, was saying, man, she should win that championship.

And even though AEW decided not to pull the trigger, you should go and watch this, especially the promo when Harley looks right into the camera and says, no more goofy stuff, no more silliness, I need to get serious and maybe I'll go out there and win that damn belt. She even expressed doubt that she would be able to do this because of course,

Messerese Manet had so much experience and she didn't.

That's what the flipping Rocky Story is all about. It basically became her overall career goal to defeat one of the greatest wrestlers going right now, and then, sure, she didn't do it. But if wrestling is about emotions and wrestling is about the feeling, man, a few days before this pay-per-view, we were all doing backflips.

The timing of it was so damn great as well, it helped the card. And in terms of Cameron, while she added a bunch of needed depth to her character, it's every now and then you do have to believe. I can't tell you why. It's like Santa Claus, man. You've got to believe in Father Christmas. If nothing else, though, what we had done is strip wrestling right back to a beloved underdog baby face, going against the invincible heel. And sure, maybe if this was a few years down the line, we would have had Harley win, but either way. Both people came out of this with actually something they could use, and here we sit at the end of the year, and who knows what 2026 holds.

I mean, Mercedes-Mene will probably win another 42 belts, but why the flub not, man, she is an Ultimo. I think it was justified that Mercedes won as well, given that all in Texas was just around the corner. But in terms of what we did do at Grand Slam Australia, well, it gets a massive tick. Also, if we are going to have a big old this shouting at people and how great they've been, Harley Cameron absolutely deserves it.

She has become a master of her craft. Number 24, AJ Stiles v. John Cena at Crown Jewel.

So when this match was done, I went on social media and do you know what I called it? A delight.

Once again, I sound like your uncle at Christmas time. But on multiple occasions, I laughed out loud during AJ Stiles versus John Cena at Crown Jewel, because I just thought it was so damn wonderful. Then a few people called it a love letter to wrestling, and I thought to myself, well, that's a bit corny, but you know what? I am happy to jump on that train. Now I do understand the criticism here because some people felt like it didn't resemble pro wrestling, but the beauty of pro wrestling is that it is predetermined so you can do whatever the flub you want. If you want to sit down and dress up as a cow, as you face an elephant in a chess match, well, all you need is a promoter to book it. Either way, though, given that John Cena only had a few matches left of his retirement run, and AJ Stiles had recently announced that he was going to retire in 2006, they just wanted to pay homage to their favourite opponents throughout the decades. So not only did we get a tombstone, but we've got a choke slam, we've got a sister Abigail, we've got a Gekina Clutch, we've got a skull-crushing finale, we've got an angel's wings, I mean, we almost got a flipping 619. As ever two, the greatest representation of this were the fans in the building who were losing their minds, and I will tell you my dudes, I was losing my mind at home as well. It just made me happy. And if we're not going to use wrestling as some sort of joyful distraction, then what the hell are we doing to begin with? That 619 especially deserves a shout out because I think it was genuine improvisation. Given that the crowd had started to call for it, John Cena basically did shrug emoji. And when the AJ styles cut him off to get booed, well doesn't that just sum it up? Obviously the tribute to Bray White may have been the best one because the entire arena did light up their torches on their phones, and the production team even dim the light so this could be illuminated further. That's another reason why I do love stuff like this. You quite literally did have to be AJ Stiles and John Cena on their last legs, but given how much they have given to this industry, well, this just felt like they were giving a little something back. It also kind of tied into the criticism that in the modern day, nobody actually cares about who wins and loses, and I kind of think styles and seen a lent right into that. It wasn't about victories or the fictional wrestling record book. This was just about giving a salute to sports entertainment and how excellent and dumb it can be. This may very well be my match of the year when I do sit down
