The creature, born out of desperation and hunger, the aberration created when a human commits

the unspeakable act of feasting upon another human.

The windigo spirit possesses those who gave in to their ravenousness and changes them,

turns them into a beast like no other.

Today, I have five allegedly real encounters from people just like you or me, who swear

they've seen the windigo and have lived to tell about it.

A ghoul in the woods from Anonymous.

I lived in Little Town in Maryland, right on the border with Virginia and West Virginia.

My town was very old, established in the 1700s.

It was originally established right on the banks of the Potomac River.

Back in the day, a lot of people drowned whenever the river would flood, so the woods surrounding

the river were considered by some to be haunted.

Anyway, it was summer break, and being the raging insomnia I was, I always enjoyed

summer break, because I could stay up later than normal.

This incident, however, took place when I wasn't allowed to be out.

On that particular night, I had stayed out late, came home, and then spent a couple of

hours tossing and turning, trying to sleep.

Finally around 3am, I gave up, deciding to sneak out and walk around in the woods.

I've had my fair share of creepy experiences, but I'd never had any in the woods up to

this point, so I had no reason to doubt my safety.
