Well, hello there, top teachers. We are your hosts, Michelle Emerson and Bridget Spackman,

0:05.7

and we're here to make your life easier by helping you master your time, organization,

0:10.1

and productivity as a teacher. We have both been reading a lot more this year. You could say

0:15.4

we've transformed into little bookworms. Throughout the year, we've shouted out books

0:19.9

randomly that we've read and loved,

0:22.0

so we wanted to dedicate one episode to sharing our favorites thus far this year. But first,

0:28.0

we're going to listen to a TSAH from Tara. Tara says, summer is my absolute favorite because I get

0:34.1

the chance to actually read books. You both shared a number of times of how you've been

0:38.8

reading more this summer. Any way to share some of your favorites in a future episode, I am always on

0:44.6

the hunt for the next best read. Love the podcast. So let's jump into it then because instead of

0:50.3

answering, I mean, that's exactly what we're going to get into in this episode. I am going to pat

0:55.6

myself on the back for a minute because I'm very proud of myself. I have never been a big reader.

1:01.6

Growing up, my sister was the reader. She always had a book. And it just wasn't me. I was the one

1:06.4

playing outside, sports, all that. But I set a goal for 2024 to read 52 books in a year.

1:14.0

It's one of my 40 before 40 list items. So that's 40 things I want to accomplish before I turn 40.

1:19.8

And we are recording this mid-July. I have currently read 31 books, but I'm on my 30nd that I'm going to finish today. I think I have

1:30.5

like 50 more pages. So I'm going to finish that one today. So I like doing the math and the ratios,

1:36.9

I am more than halfway. Like I'm ahead of schedule, which is great. And that is approximately 20 more

1:44.1

books than what I read last year. I think I finished the year somewhere, which is great. And that is approximately 20 more books than what I read last year.

1:45.4

I think I finished the year somewhere between 10 and 12. And so I'm just, I'm really proud of myself.

1:50.5

And I have to be honest and say, I've loved a lot of them. I haven't loved all of them.

1:55.4

So I'm only going to share the ones that I've really enjoyed. But Bridget, before we jump in, what has your year of
