0:04.0	you help. It is a Thursday. If you're listening to this on the day it comes out, and typically
0:07.7	you're used to a solo episode with me, but today I'm bringing you an interview with Deja Fox,
0:12.4	and here's why. Since, and of course, before Trump took office, it's felt like a barrage of
0:18.0	shit. So put it mildly, because you listen to this show, I know you're engaged, you care, you're out there
0:24.0	don't need to causes you believe in, you're out there calling your reps, you're out there
0:27.3	protesting and boycotting and doing your best to fight against fascism.
0:32.5	But I also know that it's exhausting.
0:34.7	It makes all of us feel tired.
0:36.2	It makes all of us feel frustrated and burned
0:39.1	out. And you might be at full hopelessness at this point. And especially if we look to some of
0:45.2	our leaders who seem to be acting as if we're just business as usual, it's easy to feel completely
0:50.8	gaslit by what's going on right now. And I don't know about you, but it's been
0:54.5	hard to want to engage politically or feel like there's some ownership when it comes to the Democratic
1:02.7	Party. It feels like sometimes it's difficult to get behind any candidate at this point. Now,
1:08.8	there's always better candidates, but it's so hard not to become
1:13.2	disillusioned with politics as a whole. I know I felt this way. I'm guessing you have too. And my hope
1:19.7	is that this episode changes that for you. This is not an episode about political parties. This is an
1:24.3	episode about the heart of our democracy and the importance of putting our weight and our money behind progressive policies that we want to see more of.
1:32.7	Policies that are bold and popular, but often get squashed by this larger media storm and some of the more minor issues that get blown up and blown out of proportion.
1:43.6	I think one of the most powerful things that we've talked about on this show over and over and over again
