Jason Lengren is with me and Derek Condit who is a keeper of bees. I've actually

wanted to do an episode on bees for a long time.

Bees are amazing.

If you haven't taken the time to learn about bees, you should.

You know how much work I've done on things like time and almost in every book that I've ever gotten to reference time

bees are included and from a scientific point of view they come to the conclusion that bees have an on board clock how

else could any of this work how could their little dance direct them exactly to

where the food is and all these things well we finally got someone who knows that what I consider to be a higher level.

And there's another part of this story.

When I came to Rhode Island, we have what's called Carpenter Bees in San Diego,

and they cut a perfectly, almost looks like it's drawn with a compass a perfectly round hole into wood to go in to do their their renewal to make more bees. And so every time you see a home with these, the

homeowner gets mad because of course this bees cutting around holes so they

get killed a lot. When I got here to Rhode Island, the eve of the house had just, I don't know, 10 maybe of these

holes. And so at that point I stopped, I went and I learned about what's called a Mason B or a Carpenter B. And I was

was amazed by what I found and I was further amazed to see how many of them get killed.

So needless to say, I adjusted, I did not kill those bees and I hope that what we learned here today gives people a new impression of how important bees are to all of us.
