But enough of that let's talk about the topic at hand here. I want to do a short episode where I reframe for you this idea of being a hopeless romantic

I really don't like that phrase to be honest and I don't like kind of what it does to us when we consider ourselves to be hopeless romantic

So I want to take a couple of minutes here and show you that if there's any mindset you should have as it relates to dating and relationships

It's one of being a hopeful romantic because you are you're a hopeful romantic. You're not a hopeless romantic. You're hopeful and this goes back to what I talked about a couple episodes ago

on this idea of chasing and dating and relationships and in that episode I talked about the difference between chasing and attracting and I guess the spark notes are that attracting means that

Endating and relationships you're being real you're being patient you're being intentional you're putting your best self out there and you're simply letting people react to that. That's it.

You're not faking anything you're not being anything other than true to yourself. That's attracting and then there's chasing and that means you're being impatient you're being desperate you you have to prove something to that person and to other people you feel a need to convince someone to love you or accept you and like you're okay with being someone other than who you're who you're not who you are and that's no bueno obviously chasing is not

a good attribute so let's use that as context for this idea of being a hopeful romantic and not a hopeless romantic as the saying goes and I'll show you why I think the former hopeful is such a more fulfilling and happy mindset to have as you live your life and date and go about your relationship so here's the spoiler and then I'll get into the details like the the clickbait headline would be that

in the most uplifting compassionate powerful way possible I want you to realize that there is more to life than love. Yeah, I know what case what are you saying have you turned cold not at all but I think it's important to recognize that there's more to life then defining yourself and your life by love by a relationship there's more to life then defining yourself by your status as a

boyfriend girlfriend husband wife single person there's more to life than romantic love and it serves a huge purpose a huge fulfilling human purpose and that is to magnify who you are and the happiness that you have it magnifies it it doesn't create it and a hopeful romantic understands that whereas a hopeless romantic it's quick to forget because this is a

very quick to forget because they're so busy chasing so let me explain what I mean by this before you're like, okay, so what's up man like you've lost that you like love love love isn't isn't real so this idea of a hopeless romantic I guess by by all by the definition or what we consider to be a hopeless romantic I'd say okay I'm sure I'm a hopeless romantic because I believe in the things that we typically associate with this idea I believe in the idea of romance right

I believe in you know feeling butterflies when you find someone special in your heart skipping a beat when that person texts you calls you I believe in strong connection and you know I believe in everything associated with relationships holding hands sending flowers sending I love you text and good morning text like I believe in the whole thing I really do I want that for myself and I want that for you
