Hello and my name is Matt Mullins, we're two ministers and two friends who love the stories

of the Bible and we can't wait to share them with you and today's Todd is, it is hairad raising.

Because it's like hair, but then you're referencing the King Herod. So I say what you did there,

it's like Bible joke. Isn't that great? It's so good. What if we came up with a new podcast about

Bible Story joke references, Bible jokes. I think it'd be doing just as well as this one.

So successful. So successful. That's right. Matt, you're right. We are going to discuss

King Herod, but which one? Oh, well, we're going to focus on one of them, but there's actually a

dynasty of Herod kingship. What are we going to do by that? This is a whole family of rulers

who were kings largely in the New Testament. If you look at kind of all the kings in the New Testament,

the Herod King ruler, that's going to be a big family that you see throughout the New Testament

scripture. That being said, they weren't sweet kings. They weren't godly kings. This was not a powerful

family who had the fear of the Lord, and they were not Christ followers. With that being said,

I just want to first reference one scripture that I found very interesting. Acts 539 says this,

but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. So Acts 5 is saying, hey, if God

is doing something, you're not going to be no man, no person, we'll be able to take that thing

down or that person down or that scenario down. You may even find yourself fighting against God.

So what the scripture is saying is, hey, no matter what you think you can accomplish or overcome,

if this is something God has in his plans, nobody can thwart that. Not only that, but hey, be careful,

you don't want to be someone who is going against God's plan. That's not a good place to be in

in our life. So found that interesting. But hey, let's just really quick talk about the Herod dynasty,

and then we're going to talk a little bit about a story from Acts 12, and this is Peter's miraculous
