All right, day two this week, as we are going to do a deep dive on how we

glorify God at work. And a part of the way that we glorify God at work is not just what we do,

even though the what we do matters like crazy, but it is the who we do it for. The Bible says this in Colossians chapter 3. This is in a section of the

scriptures that shows up several times in the epistles called the household code where God instructs us

on how to be married, on how to be a parent, and how to go to work. Colossius 322, that verse says

bond servant. The Greek word there is doulas.

So don't think like transatlantic chattel slavery.

That's not what it is.

This is somebody that would willingly or willfully go to work for somebody else to

either pay off a debt or in some way better their life.

So in our context, this would be an employee, okay?

So bond servants, obey in everything

those who are your earthly masters or bosses, not by way of eye service as people pleasers,

but with sincerity of heart fearing the Lord. Here's our verse. Whatever you do, work heartily as for the Lord and not for men,

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.

You are serving the Lord Christ for the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done,

and there is no partiality.

Let me ask you this.

When you go to work, who are you working for?

Do you think you're working for you?

Do you think you're working for the company?
