0:14.8	Hi everyone I hope you're all doing so well and welcome back to the Criminal Makeup podcast each episode we dive into the minds of some of the worst criminals
0:19.6	in history and today we're going to be talking about the case of
0:23.2	Zach Bowen and this case is most often known as the case of Zach and
0:27.6	Adi. So Zach and Adi were a young couple in their 20s and at the time of
0:32.0	this case taking place they were actually living in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
0:38.3	Zach and Adi decided to stay behind after the storm and they soon became leaders of a small
0:44.3	community of survivors where they were forced to fend for themselves with no
0:48.9	electricity, no water and no heating and they gained a lot of attention in the media
0:55.4	because of this.
0:56.1	They were doing interviews with newspapers and everything.
0:59.4	However, eventually they made it through all of this
1:01.9	and then they went back to living their lives as quote normal but unfortunately things would never be normal again and well let's just say this case takes quite a crazy turn. When I first came across this case, I did not see it coming at all.
1:18.9	And the crazy events that take place after this case are what makes this case so infamous.
1:25.0	So there is a lot to get through in this one as always, so let's just jump straight in.
1:38.0	Zach Bowen was born on the 15th of May 1978, making him a tourist. We've got another tourist case. I didn't do one for so long and now I've done two or is it three? I think it's just two in such a short space of time. He was born in Bakersfield, California to to his mom, Lori and his dad Jack.
1:55.2	He had an older brother who was three years older than him.
1:58.6	His name was Jed.
1:59.7	So Zach's parents, Lori and Jack, had always dreamed of traveling the country.
2:05.2	They decided, you know what, let's go do this now, let's go travel the US.
2:09.6	They had a VW Camper van, they packed up all of the belongings,
2:13.0	the two children, and they went on the road.
2:15.3	They went from state to state, starting in California,
