Hey everyone. This is Mary and welcome to the latest episode of American Girls, the

podcast where we are re-reading the American Girls series Book by Book.

Except not on this episode. On this episode we're going to take you on a field trip with us to meet Gwen,

the founder of an amazing food blog called A Peak Into the Pantry. On this blog, she recreates recipes both historical and modern inspired by the

historical character line of American girl. Now as you might have guessed from

listening to this show Allison and I are not what some

would call food forward, food savvy, cooking savvy, we sure try at times, but I can't

really speak for the results in all cases so this was

both an exciting challenge and a fun opportunity. We got to spend an afternoon

with Gwen a couple days after Thanksgiving and make a Kirsten inspired dessert.

So we're really happy to bring you this episode.

Just to give you a heads up, we filmed this in Gwen's space where the sound was kind of expansive so it may not sound as clear as it usually does

So I think it's okay, but just wanted to give you that heads up

And let me just set the scene for you to take you on this field trip.

Allison and I began this journey bundled up together in my Subaru where all great journeys

begin in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot.

You know, I was in my Subaru but I'm still thinking about my Saturn and I just want to give a

shout out to everyone who's reached out to me to tell me their Saturn's story.

Did not realize there were so many of us out there,

but I'm happy to know there's still some Saturn's on the road.
