Do you remember where you were on February 2nd, 2012?

Maybe not specifically that day, but around that day.

What were you doing, where were you living?

It was only nine years ago.

I was touring, finishing working out some material

for a stand-up comedy album called Hear This.

I'd go on to record a few months later in May of that year.

It was breaking up with a girl I dated for about nine months

in Santa Monica, likely taped an episode of a silly show

called World's Dumbest, somewhere around that date,

if not on it.

It was a Thursday.

If I wasn't spending that night in the little apartment,

I lived in on the edge of Santa Monica and Bundy and West LA,

kind of where West LA and Santa Monica meet.

I was on the road somewhere doing a show.

I was probably out telling jokes somewhere.

A few months before I would meet my wife, Lindsay,

18-year-old high school senior Samantha Koneck

was being kidnapped by a sexual sadist and true predator.

We're working a little drive-through coffee shop in Anchorage, Alaska.

Following her kidnapping and investigation, of course, ensued.
