Now on today's episode we have got on Adam Lane Smith who is an attachment specialist.

Now welcome to the show Adam how you doing?

Man I am so glad to talk to you this is cool.

That's awesome man.

Well I've done a brief intro right there and I'm sure off the bat somebody is like what is an attachment specialist.

So tell people a little bit about who you are and what you do.

Yeah absolutely I worked as a licensed psychotherapist for a long time and my specialty became trauma and attachment.

An attachment is the way two human beings connect to each other to form a mutually fulfilling circle.

Sharing their needs being securely attached with trust and bonding and openness.

That's what attachment is supposed to be.

And the psychology community especially here in America doesn't put any much stock in attachment at all.

That's for kids we don't have to worry about it.

Don't even talk about it.

Here's the problems it's a diagnosis probably needs medication and here's a couple treatments we can do along the way.

I started diving into attachment.

Then I started teaching it to other clinic directors.

I started teaching it to other psychotherapists, doctors, nurses, everybody needed to hear about it.

Then I got on the internet and it blew up big.

And then I had to quit my psychotherapy practice because you can't coach and you can't do therapy outside of the one little state where you are out of 50 states.

So the coach internationally I had to retire my license.
