Summary

An In-Depth Look At the Meteoric Rise And Spectacular Fall Of Elizabeth Holmes And Her Now Defunct Biotech Company Theranos [Part 9]

This is Part 1 of a 13 Part Series in which Killafornia Dreaming will be discussing the rise and fall of Elizabeth's Holmes of the now defunct biotech company Theranos. For more than a dozen years, Theranos worked tirelessly in an effort to develop a revolutionary new blood testing device that only needed a single drop of blood to run hundreds of different diagnostics that was compact enough that patients would be able to have a device in their very own home. Elizabeth was able to bring in millions upon millions of dollars from investors, not only getting Theranos to reach a peak valuation of $9 billion dollars, but also making herself the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world at the time. But despite all the hype and high powered investors and board members, the company turned out to be a house of cards that eventually would come tumbling down thanks to one pesky Wall Street Journal Investigative Reporter who spectacularly blew the roof off Theranos.

Hello Dreamers and welcome back to the show. This is the ninth installment of our series

0:06.2

on the Ryzenfall of Theranos and its founder and former CEO Elizabeth Holmes. So that

0:12.5

officially makes this the longest series our podcast has done covering one case. The

0:18.2

longest one prior to this one was an eight-parter on Patreon where we discussed the 2011 death

0:24.9

of 20-year-old college student Morgan Ingram out of the state of Colorado. There has long

0:31.3

been a debate as to whether Morgan's amateur talent overdose was an accident, suicide,

0:36.1

or murder. That was a pretty good series if I do say so myself because it was a little

0:40.4

bit different in that what we did was we went through just about every single one of the

0:45.3

TV shows and interviews that Morgan's mother and father Tony and Steve had conducted over

0:50.5

the years and we went point by point to uncover many of the lies and inconsistencies that

0:57.3

have been surrounding that case all of these years. That's on Patreon with the whole series,

1:03.1

all eight parts are accessible for only one dollar and in fact part one of that series

1:09.4

is unlocked for anybody who wants to take a listen just to get a sample of what Patreon

1:14.4

is all about. So you can check it out at least a sample of that series for free if you like.
